POD SIZE: This POD is Limited to the First 15 Students at Each School
LAB FEES: $20/Student (Invoiced Upon Acceptance Into the POD)*
Students will learn how machine learning systems depend on clean, honest data, and how small distortions, like mislabeled images or invisible light patterns, can cause the AI to make completely wrong decisions. Through guided activities, they’ll see how data poisoning happens, how it can be detected, and why AI safety and ethics matter in real-world applications from self-driving cars to facial recognition.
This POD combines coding, experimentation, and digital ethics to build critical thinking about the reliability of intelligent systems.
In this hands-on module, students explore how artificial intelligence can be misled by bad or manipulated data. Using Raspberry Pi computers and image-recognition models, students train a simple AI to tell the difference between everyday objects, then experiment with ways that hidden changes or misleading examples can “poison” its understanding.
POD SIZE LIMIT: None
